The Field of Dreams has become a reality! On Saturday 27th October, the school with all the children, teachers, parents and guests celebrated the official opening of the field. There were soccer and netball games organised by volunteers from the Football Federation of South Africa, jumping castles and face painting, marimba music, food stalls and a general atmosphere of fun and excitement.
Councillor Ben Solomon opened the Field and the fun continued late into the afternoon. The raffle was drawn by a remote controlled helicopter that distributed golf balls on the field, and the winners were: 1st Prize – a flatscreen TV won by Sandisiwe Phantsi, 2nd prize – a whale watching boat ride won by E. Groenewald, and 3rd prize – a Karoo lamb, won by Mrs Cameron.
The school is very grateful to everyone who made the day a success, and also to those who contributed towards the realisation of our dreams!
